In 2014, what’s now known as Executive Waypoint began with a single conversation. Barry had asked Janice for help refining how he was presenting himself for a career move. She asked a few focused questions, rewrote his narrative, and sent it back. He called immediately: “How did you do that?”
That clarity and positioning became the foundation of a business. Within weeks, the two launched what was originally called Pro Resume Center. They signed a 50/50 partnership agreement, built the first website themselves, and committed to helping people find language and direction for their next step.
What they quickly discovered was a deep, unmet need: even the most accomplished executives often struggled to position their own experience. They were too close to their work, too immersed in the details, and unsure how to speak about themselves with both clarity and confidence.
That’s where the real value emerged.
Janice brought decades of experience in brand messaging, PR, and executive communications. Barry brought systems, operations, sales, and consulting experience. Together, they built a firm that didn’t just produce materials – it delivered insight, clarity, and actionable strategy.
Over the years, the work evolved. Clients arrived needing LinkedIn support, board bios, or messaging guidance. But they left with something more powerful: confidence, language, and a clear narrative that aligned their experience with what came next.
As the work deepened, so did the feedback:
- “You’re so much more than a resume company.”
- “This was better than my outplacement firm.”
- “I finally feel like I know how to talk about what I bring to the table.”
After almost 12 years in business, Janice and Barry took that feedback to heart. In 2026, they rebranded the firm as Executive Waypoint to better reflect the high-level work they do: helping leaders clarify, align, and elevate their story at pivotal career moments.
Executive Waypoint is built for executives who are:
- Preparing for a board role
- Navigating a promotion or career pivot
- Targeting advisory, consulting and fractional work – as well as public speaking engagements
- Seeking stronger language for interviews, investor outreach, or public positioning
It starts with conversation, discovery and strategy, not a template. They elevate your position with clarity, not assumptions.
The firm has supported thousands of leaders through transitions, reinventions, and defining career moments. And as AI reshapes the way careers are presented and perceived, Executive Waypoint continues to lead with thoughtful, human-centered strategy.
“We didn’t set out to build a million-dollar business,” Janice says. “We set out to help people win. That focus is what made the business grow.”
This is more than a rebrand. It’s a recommitment to the belief that clear storytelling, expert guidance, and strategic insight still matter – especially at the executive level.
